Hello,
I am currently implementing Active Directory in my school's network, and we are moving towards having an individual username for each student, grade 9 and up. What my question is, however, is related to a need we have for GPOs to be situational, and to apply based on the computer...
Hello folks,
I'm looking for a way to export the user profile database on AppleShare IP 6.3.3 to Mac Manager on OS X 10.x. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I have a web server on my network that has users that connect over VPN using the built-in VPN module. The problem is that the remote network and the local network both have the 192.168.0.0 ip scheme and therefore the remote nets cannot access the web server. I put in a static NAT translation...
My boss has a laptop with wireless that he takes home and back to his office. The internet providers are different therefore requiring different SMTP servers. He is using Windows XP and I cannot find the profiles information anywhere. (I thought I could setup 2 profiles using the same PST...
Here's the Linksys version of what you're referring to.
I would shy away from D-Link products as I just replaced a D-Link access point that would not let even D-Link cards connect to, for a Linksys that worked from the get-go.

Great- Thanks for the info guys, I think I'll try to move towards the wired route, but I'll actually have to see the site in question, which I have not visited yet. Again, thanks for the input.
That sounds great, especially cost-wise, but when I considered that as an option, the biggest question is whats the best way to run it? Through the air, along the ground...Just seems to me at that distance, I would be more concerned about the cable getting damaged. But perhaps there's a way to...
Hello all,
I'm currently preparing to connect two buildings via wireless for cost reasons that I was planning on running fiber for. The distance between the buildings is about 25-50' clear LOS. I have been looking at the Cisco 1200 series 802.11a access point to put in each building to...
Hello,
I'm having similar problems with a client in a much different situation - small business with DSL/router and a W2k server with Exchange 5.5. I recently exported the contents of 3 of the employees' folders, and moved them to another office on a new W2k server. Now the offices are...
I didn't see this in any of the posts, but as a sidenote, you can stop the spooler service from the command line by typing: net stop spooler, then net start spooler to start it again.
Thanks a bunch. That gives me a start...already considered doing the GPO/bogus proxy thing, just not fully sure what limits I have as far as how restricted they need to be and how much they want to spend. This client is extremely unorganized so God knows when I'll get an answer. Oh well...
Greetings:
I have a client that uses a Windows 2000 Server/Exchange 5.5 combo, and yesterday they called telling me that several employees had received "Requesting Data from the Microsoft Exchange Server" messages. One person said it took 20 minutes to send a single internal e-mail...
Hello all,
Always a wealth of expertise on here, so I'm gonna tap into that a bit. :) I am doing work for a client that needs some blocking done for web-access. Not content filtering or A/V, just blocking. I realize that I probably won't find a block-only product, but I have to ask...

I have a friend who works IT and ran into a similar problem with OU-based Group Policies on 2000, and it was DNS related. I hope this at least send you the right way.

Backup Exec is worth the money for just about any server-based backup. MS Backup is free/comes with 2000 Server however it has a tendency to become problematic. I have seen several cases in which MS Backup just blew out and either started giving errors for an unknown reason, or just quit...
