Hi
I may be way off, but can't you change the boot sequence in Bios so HD1 loads first? Then go to disk managment and reformat from there.
Good luck!

Hi
Are you using a router? If so, you will have to clone the MAC address. If not, have you contacted your ISP? When you change modems, your computer has to be reset on your ISP's end. Are you dial up or cable? Good luck!

I've had similar problems with permissions and have also wondered about the sincere vulnerabilities of setting users with administrative power in regards to security. I would think you are only as good as your protection. Perhaps try setting a user rights policy so then you can be a user with...
Yeah, that really bites. Been there and I am sad to say, done that. There are few options. You can't really reset, that is the security of it all. There are batch files out there to find for you-there are ones you pay for:

I do not have much knowledge in the ways of M/S Server 2003 and recently had a question posed to me whether it be better than M/S Server 2000. Any input from anyone on this? How is the stability of the 2003 vs 2k and is it generally better?
P.S This is for a small business of less than...
Does anyone know much about this? I understand it is a MS HTML application host and MS is apparently working on a patch. What I don't understand is what it does and why it is a hook application. I found it on the reg but I don't want to delete until I am tot's sure as to what it is. Anyhoo...
Don't know if this will help, but have you checked for viruses? There are a couple that Norton won't find. I would suggest doing a scan using AVG. I just reformatted a friends computer and I had the same problem. I think the name is the Wincha virus although I can't seem to find any info on...
Thanks all for the discourse. You have been very helpful. It was the screen saver!! :)

Thanks so much everyone for all the input and my apologies for not listing my o/s CDogg. First, I am running Win2kPro. I rarely turn off my computer and I do have a fancy screensaver. Thanks so much Zepper!! I never thought of software. I really didn't think it could be the CMOS battery. I...
My computer clock is way slow. Whenever I set it, it only
takes a few days for it to get a few hours behind again. Do I just need to change the battery? My computer is only a year old- could it be that something else is amiss (the clock chip)? Could it be NTP (Network Time Protocol)? Thanks for...

So your computer starts up and then shuts off before loading anything? If you are able, you may want to check out your drivers. Apparently IomDisk.sys may cause problems with XP. If you can't even get o/s to load, have you thought of your cmos battery? Can you even get into bios? Otherwise...
Sorry, my previous comment was intended for another thread. (ah new users hey) Try downloading and using aida32. www.aida32.org
It is a fantastic tool. It will clearly show you what you do and don't have on your system. If it still says 256MB, I would print out the page and take back...
Hey helpless-my friend bought a lapttop recently and had the same problem. He tried to reformat several times and we checked his events. (Right click my computer and go to manage, then event viewer) There were hundreds of errors which explains a bit of the bottleneck on his system. The...
