CajunCenturion I noticed in the story that the "security experts" are warning companys to ensure that they have the latest patches etc.
Now I don't want to give the impression that I am defending hacker ~ far from it ~ though what I am suggesting is that people (especially companys)...
Is someone trying to say that a "government class" wipe means that a government can get the "wiped" info back and "joe bloggs" can't.
I would genuinely hope that there are less severe ways of destroying data, than putting the hard-drive into acid.
All the best.
'twas always "chicken licken" when I was a lad. Perhaps it has different connotations these days.
I have just had a look at the "Chicken Little" version ~ I must say I am unimpressed.
Get yer beady's round this version...

I think you are talking about the same people who "don't trust" <insight>can't configure</insight> filters on their e-mails.
So they rely on visual verification of the e-mail contents, Just incase it is something important.
All the best.
We must all contend at one time...
SteveTheGeek is right about the opt-out business ~ in fact most good advice tells you never to click for an opt out ~ unless you know it is a company of repute that you have signed up with.
<aside>I hope no one asks me where to get that good advice, because I won't tell them</aside>
All the best.
Hi Cajun
Your opinion seems to be based on sound logic and reason ~ sadly those are concepts that are noted in the UK by therir absence.
You don't have to search the net too hard to find people highlighting a lack of skills at all levels of UK service and Industry eg...
Hmmmmm,
To suck seed you must have;
Desire, ability and opportunity...
or know somebody...
It's not what you know it's who you know that counts
That particular saying used to irritate me when I was a young 'un. Today it !£$%ing irritates me because I seem to be forever "haunted by...
Hi SemperFiDownUnda
I think we will just have to disagree on placing the employer in such a dominant position.
The points you make about public, private and privacy are well made.
I wasn't attempting to take your example out of context, I was just seeking a qualification ~ which you provide...

The fact that the costs are different is not a issue.
You do have the right to make mobile phone calls from work on your own phone.
I am just wondering, should the "second" quote I've used be qualified with "during your luch break"? I ask, because the...

There is one thing I have learnt about politicians: When they start with the extreme stuff it is only to set the scene for a comparitively "softer" version.
So Mr Hatch "wants" to destroy PC's, but what would he...
Well if you have ruled out windows programmes running it must be something that the router is doing on its own.
Have you tried to access it to see if there are any settings that would cause it to perform this action?
A scan with a spybot wouldn't go amiss for your PC to make sure you haven't...
What applications have you got running in the background?
Something like that sounds as though something is being checked eg. e-mail and then ringing off when the action is performed.
All the best.
lol, an interesting read. Even just writing about computer security can get you in trouble. That reminded me of [i]GURPS Cyberpunk[/b] from way back...so I have had a look and came up with this interesting (IMO) story;

Don't worry about it. You haven't said anything particulary offensive, IMHO.
I don't agree with your assessment of the UK political situation ~ but I'm sure we won't fall out over that, lol.
Remember, just because "you're" wrong doesn't mean that "we're" right...
Hi,
I am assuming that you are in the US so I can't help you with any details.
From the UK perspective; if you are now expected to do more "contracted" hours for the same pay, you have been given a pay cut. Can employers arbitrarily impose pay cuts in the US?
You say that you don't...
Hi,
A quick check brings up

If you have already seen this page I would ask the question "how was I to know?"...you know what I mean!

All the best.
IT's been a while since I used Ghost but doesn't it wait for your to OK the configuration before it reboots?
If it isn't you need to look at why it is auto-rebooting and stop it. That way you go round and collect your disks and reboot the machines.
All the best.

Could you help me out please. I am not very good with the irony or sarcasm thing. When I clicked you link and saw multiple references to drivers and firmware upgrades it did make me wonder what you were trying to say.
All the best.
Why is it people take cover in bus shelters?
