Thanks all for the quick replies. I'll forward the information on and see what the plan is. Much appreciated.

    Force consent page before OWA

Hi, we have a webpage setup that users hit before OWA that has a consent banner, then forwards them to the http://owaserver/exchange page. However, if a user manually types in the URL to the OWA site then they bypass the consent page. Is there a way to configure the server so that if they try...

Script to update MAV definition files

Yes we are managed, enterprise edition. Sorry. We would deliver the dat from a local server copied there via another script or manually if needed. Workstations are not able to update directly from McAfee due to policy reasons.

Script to update MAV definition files

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't the startup script have the same rights as a local admin? I guess not. And I believe scheduled tasks are disabled on workstations due to policy. We do have an update task but 'should it fail' we want a brute force method as a backup.

Script to update MAV definition files

This file would be like the .xdb file in Symantec AntiVirus that you copy to update clients manually.

Script to update MAV definition files

Hi, we need admin access to run the xxxxsdat.exe files on user workstations so I tried adding it to the Windows startup script. I am able to get it to run, but the process hangs using zero CPU. If I elevate a command prompt to admin and run the same script file (we've tried kix and DOS batch)...

Thanks for your reply, I do appreciate your time. It is not exactly what we're looking for and we have a 3rd party solution application being implemented in a couple weeks.

Adding a dropdown to a tab in AD Users Computers

Thanks. Will this also add a dropdown in the GUI to set the value of the custom attribute?

Adding a dropdown to a tab in AD Users Computers

Did a little more research and it seems we would need to create a .dll to accomplish this. As I am not a C++ or similar programmer this seems like not a trivial task. Am I off base here, is it really that difficult?

Adding a dropdown to a tab in AD Users Computers

Hi, I want to know if there is a way to add a dropdown box populated by a custom attribute to a tab, say 'account', when viewing properties of a user in the active directory users and computers snap in? What would this require? Any insight/speculation would be greatly appreciated.

Problem with vpmsece3.dll when opening Outlook 2007

Don't you love symantec? Actually the problem seems to stem from Outlook. Don't you love microsoft? :) Anyhow, you could try adding it to your login script. The logic would include going into every profile but the file is located in the same location making that a little easier. Or push the...

    trouble serving .aspx scripts

Glad that fixed it. If you look closely at the 404 error in the logs it is actually: 404.2 - Web service extension lockdown policy prevents this request List or all status codes can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318380 Why it is a '404' error at all...

Problem with vpmsece3.dll when opening Outlook 2007

this may explain: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2004060116454248 This problem happens because the Extend.dat file contains cached information. Outlook does not update the contents of the file when you start Outlook. When you delete the Extend.dat file, Outlook...

.Net isn't enabled by default. You need to turn it on in IIS web service extensions.
