Hi, all...
We're running BAB 11.5 SP2. Every since we patched to SP2 we've been experiencing a random issue with different libraries staying in a LOCKED state after a backup. Can't dismount, erase, inventory...nothing. The only that frees it up it to stop/start the tape engine.
The firmware...
Iain, what did you do to fix this? We're having the same issue, but we're trying to restore a session that was backed up with BAB v9 from an upgraded system now running BAB v11.
I should also add that this is a backup job from a NetApp Filer (NAS device)...if anyone reading this has...
Hi there,
Does anyone have a valid fix for "Invalid procedure call or argument" errors when trying to connect over Internet Explorer with Onyx's CRM product version 4.5 after installing Service Pack 2 on XP?
Microsoft released a couple patches for their CRM product. We've been unable to...
I am experiencing this same issue. Our jobs fail with E3831. This new setup on BAB11 is two weeks old. All patches have been applied. I have several groups setup across several libraries. It'll randomly fail on a different job. Our workaround has been to reboot the server, then restart the...

Update...E8535 errors seem to be gone after I changed the IP Address on the NIC directly connected to the Filer. However, we're still getting the AE0276 errors that accompanied the E8535 errors after about 19 hours of backing up.
Both NetApp and CA are on the case. We've sent multiple logs in...
Thank you for your response...
It's a NetApp 810 Filer. The Libraries are SpectraLogic TreeFrogs.
We also went as far as to connect a network crossover cable from the backup server to the NetApp.
PS...It's been three days and CA has yet to respond to the case I've opened with them.
Thanks...
Thank you for your response.
We have our libraries connected directly to our NAS devices specifically so we wouldn't use up the bandwidth.
Is this a problem with v. 9.01? Does v. 11 take care of this?
Thanks, again...we really appreciate the input.
Hi, all...
Does anyone know how to overcome an E8535 error on BrightStor v.9? This happens specifically when we're backing up one of our NAS devices. We'll get this error after about 12 hours into the job:
E8535 error -- Failed to receive data from the client agent. (Address=x.x.x.x (name...
Hi there. I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with the Dell PE6650 and an annoying CPU IERR E07F0 on reboot. I have seen other threads where Dell has replaced the MotherBoard and has suggested upgrading the BIOS and ESM to the latest revision. However, that has not seemed to help...
Thank you for your reply...
The backups are running around 30-40 MB/minute...that's ok. The restore, however, is the problem. The larger the mailbox, the slower the restore.
Hi, there...
We're running the latest and greatest version of BrightStor v. 9.01 and are experiencing extremely slow bricks restores. I called CA and they told me that if any anti-virus software is running on the Exchange 5.5 server, the restores would be significantly slower. So...I built a...
I am working with this same issue now. I have a feeling that it's a setting on the SCSI card that is tripping out ArcServe. I'm actually working with it today and I'll post the results and the fix when I finish testing.
Hang in there...
Also...
There are two versions of ArcServe 2000...one for the US and one for export. The US version has encryption included...the export version does not.
The original error was caused by the export version which we believe is also the trial version sent by CA. They said once we purchased...
**RESOLVED**
Well...I finally had to call tech support because their email correspondence was less than helpful. I wish I could say more for their phone support...
I found this write-up on CA's web site:

Tech support didn't think...
We recently upgraded from ArcServe 6.61 for NT to ArcServe 2000 on a Win2K Server. Our previous backups on 6.61 were encrypted and we never had a problem restoring. Now when we try to restore these tapes using ArcServe 2000 and we give it the proper session password, we get this error...
