Hi - I am losing alot of hd space on the exchange server, though I have deleted two very large mailboxes. I emptied the bad mail file which wasn't very large - I stopped and started the sevices but I didn't recover any space.

have your users setup anyting in their junk email folder - rules that would move or delete the message prior to it arriving in their mailbox?
The senders IT admin - did they check their queues to see if the messages are still in their queues. I had a similar problem where email to some users...
I would suggest manual deletion if you are not familar with scripts for if something goes wrong with the script it could leave you cripple.
Also, look into a third party such as message labs (messagelabs.com) who for a small cost scans all your mail for virues before sending it on to your mail...
There are a few things to look into regarding this problem.
Check with the recepients to see if they have a program in place that will strip any attachments.
Also if they are using outlook 2000, 2002 2003 then outlook will block certain attachments that it deems a security risk.

There are two ways you can do this. If this is a harassing email - why reply - just use the junk mail folder and have it automatically deleted from the mailbox or if there is a reason to send a reply, then the rules will do it.
