Hello Guys,

I am having a problem with my outgoing SMTP mail. This is just certain domains and not all domains. I have noticed that it only happens when the domain names are too big. Example; user@cepo.conted.uah.edu and user@chla.usc.edu. Here is what happens. The messages get queued and they never leave the que. After two days I get the following NDR report; " This message was rejected due to the current administrative policy by the destination server. Please retry at a later time. If that fails, contact your system administrator.
<servername.domain.org #4.3.2>"
I am not sure if this is an exchange problem of a DNS problem or the destination server problem. Any help on this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your domain might be blacklisted. Check some of the RBL lists.

it can also be reverse DNS - I had the same problem and couldn't understand why the mail stayed in the queue, only to find out the DNS entries were never created by our ISP. Once the ISP setup the reverse DNS then the mail flowed. We are also using a middle vender to scan all of our mail for viruses before coming in or leaving the exchange server. Good luck!
