    I had similar problems last year, however my slowdowns were due to having IDE drives, which just could not move data fast enough.

    I have a simlar problem, although my setup is brand new and has never worked. My DHCP is supplying primary and secondary dns and wins but I cannot resolve netbios names. As a workaropund I have to use a lmhosts file.

    This probably is no help, but as far as I was aware, the login id needs to be the aliasname. If you have a different alias in exchange from the user id in the domain, you can experience login difficulties.
