No it's not a permissions issue. You're in a report project building a report in VS. You drag the subreport object onto the report layout and open the subreport properties window to key in the relative path or URL or the subreport you want to include. As soon as you key the ":" and/or "/" of...
That is what I found too lazyluci. I can get the relative path method to work but that doesn't help if the subreport is on another server. Documentation clearly states that you can use a URL but you immediately get the ReportName not valid message.
Microsoft's documentations states:
"The report that the subreport displays is stored on a report server, usually in the same folder as the parent report."
This implies to me that I should be able to bring in a report from somewhere other than my current project or call to one in another...
Does anybody know if there is a Role setting that allows staff to view the security permissions on a folder or report but not change them? I've tried View Folders and View Resources but my users still can't see the permissions on folders that they are allowed to publish/run reports.
Thanks in...
I had the same problem years ago with Crystal Report/Crystal Enterprise. My solution was to include the needed HTML as part of the report and output the whole thing as a text file but changing the extention to HTML as I pushed it to the server. There is some complexity in generating well...
Although it is a bit dated and I know many of the shortfalls of MS Reporting Services have been improved since the following comparison was developed it is a great document for comparing the two products...
Thanks for the offer but I managed to get the tool working. Not sure how but the config file got corrupted. I copied the original config file back in, pointed it to my servers and all works great. Overall a great little tool.
Thanks. I actually found this tool before your response and used it to generate the scripts. However I get an error every time I try to configure the tool. It indicates that the field it is trying to update does not exist. I may try contacting the folks that wrote the tool to see if they can...
We have implemented both a development and production reporting services server but I cannot find information on how to move (deploy) reports from the development server to the production server. How is this typically done or is considred best practice just to allow report creators the ability...
Ok I set mine up the same except using our ip address and mine failed as well but for a different reason. That was because of an issue with the FROM field. It must be in a valid email address format. Meaning it must be something like "CrystalReports@yourorg.com" or whatever. It does not have...
I'm sorry but I don't know what else to tell you. I just spent 5 min setting up smtp on my CE-XI test server and ran a report and all worked just fine. Something on your server is set up wrong but I can't tell you what.
Are you still getting the same error message?
Based on your response it appears you are on Business Objects XI and not Crystal Enterprise 10. I should have asked in the first place but your original post made a reference to 'enterprise' so I just assumed CE10. That being said you found the right item to enable/configure.
I think you...
CMC = Crystal Management Console which is just another name for the Crystal Enterprise administration tool. You should have a link/start menu option that takes you the Crystal Enterprise Admin Launchpad. The Crystal Management Console is the first option on the right side of the UI..
As far...
Is the SMTP service on the server started?
Did you enable SMTP on your Crystal Job Server? If not from the CMC select SERVERS, the select your job server(s), and then DESTINATION ==> CrystalEnterprise.Smtp. This must be enabled for Crystal Enterprise to use the SMTP service on the server.
Just one more comment that if you are dealing with records from more than one calendar year that you would need to update the formula to accomodate this fact. If your data was to span multiple years (3+) my solution would become very cumbersome and would probably not be a viable solution.
If I'm understanding you correctly you don't want to the data titles to reflect the months as "01" or "02" or ...but rather as "January" or "February" or ... respectively.
If that's true you could create a formula that creates a data field related to each record that contains the month name...
Do you mean the email addresses of the folks you want the report sent to? If the report is running as a scheduled job on the Enterprise server the answer is YES but keep in mind it can be one or more email addresses and that an email address in this context can also be a Distribution list.
