Matt, I'm not sure what the limitations are. We have multiple ethernet cards in our 400s and are able to route specific IP traffic through them. For example, we have one ethernet card dedicated for sending 400 to 400 mirroring traffic, and another ethernet card for other lan traffic.

You should be able to route your 192.168.1.* traffic to 10.170.0.3 by entering the following command:
ADDTCPRTE RTEDEST('192.168.1.0') SUBNETMASK('255.255.255.0') NEXTHOP('10.170.0.3')
We have a LAN attached IBM Infoprint20 with an *IPDS feature installed, here's our config source:
CRTDEVPRT DEVD(PRT01) DEVCLS(*LAN) TYPE(*IPDS) MODEL (0) LANATTACH(*IP) AFP(*YES) PORT(5001) ONLINE(*YES) FONT(011 *NONE) FORMFEED(*CONT) SEPDRAWER(*FILE) PRTERRMSG(*INQ) MSGQ(*CTLD) ACTTMR(90)...

Can someone tell me where I can find out what Extended Base Directory Support is? or Extended NLS Support? I've tried searching the IBM websites with no luck. I can find out what install CD that they are on, and how much disk space they'll use, but I can't find out what they are for.
When the 400 gives you a QPADEV* name, it was because a workstation id was not specified when the PC5250 session was established. I'd make sure that when you create a printer or display session and give it a workstation id, save the session. You can verify that the workstation id was saved, by...
Our company is using Showcase Stragegy for that purpose. The Marketing and Finance departments seem to like it. I've also heard of Cognos, which is also supposed to be good.
We're not doing any file transfer pc to 400 via SNA anymore, but it almost sounds like it has lost it's connection to the 400 when trying to do the transfer. Can you verify that there is a connection already established, when you receive the error? I think that you should be able to look at...
Another thing to take a look at is Operations Navigator withing Client Access Express. You can find your printed output from within Ops Navigator, copy and paste a spool file to a text file on your desktop, hard drive, or network drive.
It's been a while since I've used a 5250 emulation card, but I seem to remember having that problem when user's left their emulation session running without signing off the system for days. I'd try signing off on a daily basis. If that doesn't do it, sign off and reboot on a daily basis...
