We are dumping all of our terminals that connect to an AS/400 and moving over to PCs. However we still need to use the AS/400 so I need to get an emulator for the PCs so they can still use the AS/400. I was looking at a program called Rumba AS/400 Edition, and I tried the demo and it looks good. I also know that IBM has their own product called Client Access, but I haven't tried it out at all. Anyone have any experience with any of the terminal emulators and have anything good/bad to say about them?

Our company buys a license for unlimited users for Client Access. I've found IBM's Client Access PC5250 display and printer emulation to be the best.

At $230 a computer that gets expensive for 30 computers. Can you recommend something cheaper? :)

We're using a product called BosaNova which is a great 3477 emulator. It runs green screen and apps, plus it allows you to configure sessions for printers, etc. Good stuff all around.

They have a bunch of different versions depending on your connection.

They can be found at
I think the TCP/IP versions I bought recently came to about $80 US per license. You'd get better pricing if you are ordering over 20 licenses.

Hope that helps. J.R. Juiliano
