Hello all,
We have an AS400 on R4V4. I’m fairly new to the AS400 and in need of a little help, We have just set up a VPN from a remote site to our office and I had to make entries into the routing tables on our NT machines so that they would reroute all returning traffic to the remote VPN's LAN setup (192.168.1.1) through our inside VPN gateway (10.170.0.3) instead of the default internet gateway of (10.170.0.1). The AS400 tries to send everything to the default gateway so I can't get a connection over the VPN. I’m unsure of how to go about making these changes or if it's possible to do the same thing on the AS400. Were using two Linksys BEFVP41 on a secondary DMZ port on our router to establish the VPN points and it works great with the Win NT/2K/XP machines. All help greatly appreciated and Merry Christmas!

You should be able to route your 192.168.1.* traffic to 10.170.0.3 by entering the following command:

ADDTCPRTE RTEDEST('192.168.1.0') SUBNETMASK('255.255.255.0') NEXTHOP('10.170.0.3')

QUSER is correct. However, if you are new to the AS400, some of the command line entries may seem a bit cryptic. It may be easier to understand what you are doing by going through the menus when possible. That way you see all related functions in context with each other. Type GO CFGTCP and take option #2 to work with TCP/IP routing. On the CFGTCP menu, you'll also see all other TCP/IP functions. Here is a url with a comprehensive list of menus.
