I think they already did get the license for us but I need to talk to them to find out the details (our original license for SM 6.0 was for almost 3,000 users). We don’t have the S8800 covered with Avaya anymore. We use our vendor (Avaya BP) for support for now. The Avaya stuff is dwindling...
We have rights to it but I was just curious how much trouble I should go to to get our vendor to work out the license file for us. We have an old install of SMGR/SM 6.0 on S8800 servers and the SMGR has been flaky for a long time and I've had to reinstall it once before. So, I wanted to give...
I've installed a separate instance of our Session Manager and System Manager setup but this time on VMware. I don't yet have a license file for this, but I was wondering...is it even needed if we're ONLY using Session Manager to do SIP trunking between various entities? We don't use Session...
First of all, does anyone have this info already? What I'm looking for is how much power is consumed by a MCC cabinet with 4 carriers installed (also the little battery charger at the bottom)...so we can understand how much the electric cost is per month. Also looking for how much heat is...
Ok, I think I have this solved. It's an issue on Exchange UM. We've always been using a traditional non-E164 dial plan in the past. I figured out that I had to configure a new entry for the 'dial rule groups' on the Exchange UM dial plan I'm using. I wish it would have at least given me an...
Yes, MTP required (media termination point) is checked. I used a Microsoft document to configure the CUCM side, so I think it should be fine. I haven't run into any other trouble except for this auto attendant transfer problem. I did a packet capture on the Cisco side to see if I could find...
Has anyone encountered a problem with MS UM where in an auto attendant you can't press an option to transfer to an extension back on the Cisco UCM? I can press 0 to transfer back to the operator number I define for the auto attendant (it rings back to CUCM just fine), but if I use that same...
CM 5.2.1 S8800 duplicated server pair with 2 IPSI cards in the local cabinets. Tell me if I'm thinking straight. I'd like to replace the LAN switches the IPSI cards and servers are using (just the private connections the IPSI cards and servers are using for the control net). I'm think there's...
Management decision ;-) If I had my preference, I would install a G430 there with S8300 as LSP. Very easy to do (I've installed plenty and do all the administration on the main server) and very reliable and flexible even if the WAN is down.
Thanks. I think this would be the last time this system will expand. In the future, it will likely be replaced by Cisco products (that's the direction we're heading....but we're not in a position to swap this one out yet for many reasons).
Well, they didn't send the cable with the unit we bought, so I assume buying a good quality shielded CAT6 patch cord would be acceptable? If the cable Avaya usually provides is simply a shielded CAT5e straight through ethernet patch cord, what would be the harm in using a 3 or 7 feet shielded...
I normally deal with larger Communication Manager systems, so pardon my basic question about this task. I just want to be sure I've got the process down before I attempt to do this.
One of our offices has an IP Office 500 with two other expansion modules. I will be adding a 16 port analog...
When I say I wish I didn't really want to do this, I mean my ideal situation would have been to have an ISDN PRI circuit there already with DID numbers to use for this. I'm still thinking about our options and what we end up doing depends on what a few different groups are willing to agree to...
Using the line group ID and incoming call route scenario, could this be configured for 6 separate lines for 6 phones? (each of the 6 phones assigned a different line). I don't really want to do this, but based on the situation we have there with the type of service they have and what this...
