I'm trying to get a list of different Knowledge Base solutions available. We use Peregrine's ServiceCenter but I want to be open to other KB tools. I've seen Right Answers and GetSmart.
Are there any other tools that you are using?
I'm not sure if this is a dead question at this time but I would recommend "yes". At least start off with one and if the work load isn't there, make it part time. ServiceCenter is a product that requires maintenance, up keep, troubleshooting, and customizations to keep it going. Our firm has...
I've been reading many post about transaction logs that have grown out of control. I'm now in charge of our SQL server with a database that's about 5 GB and that's normal. I just noticed my transaction log is very large in comparison as in 42 GB. Last weekend I created a new log file and...
That's it, I don't want to buy Peregrine's Get-It packages if the feature can be built myself. Get-it has too much other stuff that we wouldn't use or already built ourself.
Our system is SC 5.1 with SCAuto and Connect-it. I understand that you can have tickets auto-generated with Outlook forms, but has anyone made a webpage create a ticket? If so what tips can you share?
I'm researching if Peregrine Mobile and the new web-enabled Blackberry palm device can be compatible. I'm not sure what OS Blackberry uses. I read that Mobile only works with Palm and Windows CE.
Has anyone found out more information?
Just a quick question. Is the SCAuto Email program compatible with Exchange 2000?
We had it running fine on Exchange 5. When our company moved over to Exchange 2000, the rules and processes broke that were in place. Now I'm taking over the ServiceCenter Admin role and don't have the full...
That is good to hear. Is the information in one of the manuals? We have the SCAuto Email package, however it broke when our company upgraded to Exchange 2000 systems.
We are running ServiceCenter 3 and will be upgrading to 5 next year. Has anyone hear or found out ways to update a ticket or ticket status using a PDA or text pager?
we must have posted the same time. At the time I found the Automos Server Agent which also allows you to connect remotely to other systems. But it looks very expensive. Does that Avaya Site Administration tool cost something or already included on the CMS server?
I was looking at Procomm 4.8 (website) and they don't mention anything about screen capturing. Does anyone know if it has that capability? Procomm looks like my cheapest and "slightly supervisor" friendly. We only have 2 licenses for the CMS Supervisor, and are always maxed out.
MCCCXI, Could I contact you to get more information on how you did this?
Questions:
"put in the crontab" - where or what is this?
Is this running full time on CMS server or through a telnet session?
What process is set up to FTP automatically every 3 seconds?
