Thanks for the reply Pat. I checked out that link. Seems to be the issue I'm having, but it's only with one client machine when a particular user is logged in. And we don't run ISA server, the fix shown can only be done on the ISA server. I'll check the Windows Firewall and see if there's...
Outlook 2007 on WinXP Pro, new mail does not come in, have to click on a folder for new mail to appear in the inbox.
Weird issue, only occurs with one user on this machine. Logged in as me and problem not there.
Moved the users profile, created a new one and setup Oulook again, same problem...
One problem I'm seeing...all the documentation I'm reading at Microsoft talks about 2 discs...I only received one. I was thinking maybe that was because it's an SBS Upgrade, but I'm not sure....maybe that's the problem? I was never actually prompted for a 2nd disk....

The install did go, and said it completed succesfully and I didn't get any pop-up errors. I do have the new Windows Update Services available now, which I didn't before....
I right-clicked on My Computer and went to Properties, and it shows Windows 2003 SBS Service Pack 1 (Don't have console...
Is it happening to all users? I know the Application Data folder can get big. I'm not sure if the Event Log would tell you any more information. And you're referring the \ProfileName\Application Data, not \Local Settings\Application data, right?

I just upgraded to R2, but can't seeem to find the new snap-in to manage DFS and create namespaces...all I see in Administrative tools is the old snap-in. I've scoured the web, Microsoft's suggestion of going to Add/Remove Programs >> Windows Components and finding DFS on the list doesn't work...
I think I've found the answer (with help here of course).
DFS will work for what I'm trying to do...but I'll need to move to Windows 2003 SBS R2 in order to do this. 2003 Server SP1's version of DFS does not allow me to create new empty folders (with no targets), while R2 will.
And thanks...

Ah ha. I might have to bite the bullet and move to R2. Though I'm wondering if it's worth the move to R2, when Longhorn is around the corner? I'm surprised they would come out with a new OS like that right before Longhorn.
Thanks for the advice!

I understand that the DFS Namespace feature allows you to build folder trees and add namespace targets underneath folders without targets. I have read this is available on Windows 2003 Server SP1, but then I've also read that it's only available in R2.
In 2003 Server SP1, I do not have the...
My gut feeling is that you can add a SATA controller to a system that has an existing SCSI controller. I don't see how they would conflict, being 2 different controllers.
I've used a Promise SATA300 TX2 before, worked fine.
As far as the SATA power connector goes, you can get an adapter to...
Thanks for the tips. I setup a test server and checked out DFS. It looks cool, but I don't think it'll work for what I need to do. Here's a tree of how I would like things setup:
M:\Project Folders
\Client 1
\Drawings <-lives on one disk...

We currently have two 300GB SCSI320 drives (RAID 1) for our Graphics files. Typical files are around 200MB (30x42" posters, etc), and can get much larger very easily.
We also have five 74GB SCSI320 drives (RAID 5) for our architecture files. Lots of read/writes, but...

DavisNT, could you explain the main benefits of using OpenVPN vs. MS VPN in a Windows network? The main benefit that I see of using MS VPN on a Windows network is the one time authentication to Active Directory, you are authenticated to the entire network. That's very important for our end...
