yes, i put a "set -xv" in my script and got + unset savesets + unset fstab fstab=/etc/fstab + getopts sbhm name and that is it. if i run the script via the command line i see every option being processed.

check the /var/adm/messages to see if there any hardware error messages. if the disk has failed you will need te replace it.

you could also try to use the: nsrck -L7 'date which you want to recover' client name this will restore the index of that perticular client for that perticular date. after this you can retrieve the files.

maybe there is something wrong with the label definitions? make sure that under "customize" "label templates" in the NW gui, that with the right tapepool you have specified a layout which you can use as a label.

maybe the scsi addresses of the tape drives were changed after the reboot. check what the system gives as address and then check the addresses in legato which were setup before. we have had this on a tru64 system

what we do to avoid errors with tapes that come from an offsite storage is to put them on a table next to the robot for about 24 hours. This to let them get acclimatized again. It really helped to prevent 99% of media errors.
