Any help will be appreciated to find out what is causing this.

This does not appear to be NW error message - NW just forwards it.

You should look into the HW reference manuals to find out more details.

strange, EMC gave me the message this was a known error in legato 744 and supplied me with new versions of : save, savegrp, nsrd, nsrck.... and some other binaries.

i have implemented those this morning. So i am waiting if it doesn't happen anymore.

Hmm - the fact that NW does not even know SCRATCH tapes made me believe that this is not a NW message. However, it could well be that NW is in fact causing it (indirectly). So let's hope it is solved now.
