Ok here goes...The drive was fat32...so i used win98se to partiton and format at first(deleteting all partitions first)using fdisk...all went well...rebooted formatted the drive then tried installing win98se...problem came up about 14-17% through. this may be an extreme solution.....you could drill the head off the screw then once open use mole\vise grips on the remaining screw. Do it all the time on cars...but perhaps not appropriate in your case. If your unsure....Dont do it!

Marcs41,....if YOU read the post you will see that he has rebuilt...but has done so with all the items connected. I say start with the minimum and work up from there. If your unsure....Dont do it!

Go back to basics.....Disconnect everything apart from CPU/Fan, memory, graphics card, keyboard. If you still get nothing(no screen)then reset BIOS....usully a jumper on the board next to the battery. If you still get nothing then you need to test these items further. It`s a starting point. If...
