I have just bought a 19" GNR monito

I have just bought a 19" GNR monitor and it`s fine apart from the fact that it won`t start till Windows XP pro starts. Not a real problem. But its starts up at boot then goes to standby till windows boots up then it starts. So I have no access to BIOS at boot. I can get to bios using old monitor. I guess this has something to do with power management....but Im unsure. Can anyone help please?
