I have been seeing this error alot in the past 2 weeks on IE 5.5sp2 and IE 6sp1. Spyware was present but was removed as well as hijacks. I have seen this on 7 PCs so far. All Windows 2000 PCs. You can click links in IE and it will work just as long as you do not try to download anything or...
Yeah the security is set to Everyone can print to the printer. I have even set the user in that ang gave it full access but still does not work. I have even tried adding it as network printer with net use but still does not work. Very very strange like I said. I have seen 30 posts about it...
Also meant to add. I can login as any of 10 other domain accounts and the printer works fine. Only that user it affects. I have even added the user to the local administrators group in the PC but still does not work =-)
Thanks

This has been asked a few times in a few other posts but no one has ever given an answer for this. I have a HP 4000N printer that is local and will print fine when I (administrator) is logged in but when the user logs in, it does nothing. This PC is on our network but the printer is local. I...
You can remove the EVERYONE from the permission box and just add yourself to it. You will need a local account on the PC unless you are on a network where you authenicate to a server. If you remove everyone and add yourself, only you will be able, but it will ask you for a login/password if...
Sounds like to me you have not removed the virus completely. I have cleaned about 200 computers since yesterday that was infected and all I used was Stinger from Mcafee at this link and all was well. http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
Did you go through all the steps that is listed on how to...
Hi Bookser,
Maybe its best if you get a new Hard drive and load XP or whatever OS on it. Then hook the old drive up as a slave behind the new one and try to salvage the data off it. I have done that hundreds of times saving customers data when the hard drive would not boot at all.
Hope it...
What you are describing is a commen problem when using email servers that your ISP blocks you from using Port 25 (SMTP). Have you tried this KB from Microsoft.

Colours,
If I am reading correctly, at home you have 2 PCs connected via a hub. If thats true, then I have a question. Did you purchase another IP address from you ISP? I know with some cable companies they only provide 1. If you did purchase more than 1 IP from you ISP, there is an option...
What kind of system board do you have? Maybe the system board only supports up to 1GB but I doubt that very seriously seeing that you can install 512 modules in a 4 slot systemboard. Have you tried swapping those 4 randomly around in the 2 slots to see if any of them are bad? What Service...
I have a Win2k pro PC that is having a share issue. I can share the CD-rom and have EVERYONE group with full access. The computer is apart of the domain but I have full domain admin rights to all the workstations. The problem is when I try to access the shared CDROM from another PC I get...
I have a Proliant 2500R that is acting strange. If I have everything plugged in I get no power. If I unplug the 10 pin connector from the backplane, I get power but PC will not post. I have swapped Power Supply 4 times and the backplane 4 times but to no avail it does the same. I have...
