I have inherited a very old Definity G3 system running release 9.
I currently have three telephones configured for our helpdesk department. They have a dedicated support line that rings through on all of the phones.
The helpdesk tech phones are all 6416D+M phones and there are two buttons set...
We already have a night service button, and it works fine.
What I would like is all calls to follow the same night service menu if the receptionist doesn't pick up after 6 rings. I need it to cut over automatically.
Kind of hard to explain, but I will try.
We have a reception desk where the user is simply using a 6416D phone with expansion module. That set is programmed to use cov path 5. When I look at this cov path I can see that Point1=8014 and # of rings=6. Extension 8014 uses cov path 14 which has...
Mojoputter...you the man!!
Thank you, thank you for finally saving me from this issue.
Your post definitely fixed the problem for me. Only thing is I couldn't select the "enhanced_no_cover_0" option and had to leave it as "basic". Does this present a problem? When I tried the enhanced...
OK....have a spent a bit more time on this today. I'm trying to map out what happens when a call comes in to get a better understanding of where the problem lies. Below is my understanding of the current process, please correct me if I'm wrong.
1. Inbound call directly to users extension.
2...
We're using Audix for our voicemail. There doesn't appear to be any options for it in terms of the 0 out option. From my understanding the coverage path within Definity would control where calls get routed. As I mentioned, it was set to "attd" and I changed it to both "1000" and "0", but...
Just revisiting this problem. I noticed today that if I dial "0" from my telephone set it rings through to our new reception telephone (extension 1000) properly. It would therefore appear that the routing of calls works properly, but the transfer from voicemail doesn't work. I still get the...
Thanks for the suggestion Dave. Some interesting things came out of this...but unfortunately I still cannot complete the calls.
When I looked there was already extension 0 defined with cov path 25. I checked cov path 25 and it was set to 1001. Aha I thought...I changed it to extension 1000...
Our PC Console system crashed on us and no matter what I try, I cannot seem to bring it back online. To keep us operational I swapped in a 6424D+ set with the expansion buttons. We have been running this way for a few weeks and our receptionist now prefers the regular telephone to the PC...
On page one I see an option labelled as "Cyclical Hunt". It mentions in the manual that if I enable this the switch will start its search from the last trunk seized. I guess it isn't truly as random as I had hoped, but I guess it's better than nothing. My concern is still that line 1 will...

I believe I have a link to my original posting above. Basically we have installed a new card in our Definity G3 switch which is connected to 3 MagicJack devices. I set up different trunk groups and route patterns so that all LD calls are routed through the MJ lines first...
OK...let me ask this another way.
In my Definity software I can see that Attendant 1 is currently set to "302". This is what the PC Console is currently linked to.
If I purchase a used 302 console online which model should I purchase? I can see there are A, B, C and D variants and I'm not...
I inherited support of a Definity G3 a few years ago. The system is connected to an ancient PC running PC Console v2.5.3.
Unfortunately the PC console has been acting up as of late and I am looking for a solution. I have tried replacing the Lucent 8411D which is connected to the PC via a...
If I turn authorization code off, the option for "remote access dial tone" dissappears, so I assume it would not work. I have left this feature enabled.
Trunk to trunk is set to yes in COS 1
Due to some upcoming security concerns, our management team has mandated all staff work from home for two days. We have a Definity system which is linked to a PRI. Our office staff make long distance calls to our various branches and we don't want our staff to have to rack up these LD calls on...
OK, was able to figure this out myself.
I set up one routing group with FRL7 and one with FRL5. I then set up a new COR9 with FRL6. I assigned the fax extensions to COR9 and when they now dial LD they are forced to use the routing group with FRL5, thus forcing these calls through the PRI...
What is happening is the fax lines are using trunk group 2 for outbound calls and I want to force them to use trunk group 1. Trunk group 2 uses MagicJack lines and they don't work well for faxing.
