We are having more or less the same problem that Jamadom93 was having in post thread690-1441249 . Jamadom93 said that they found their problem in the config of hte DS1, but does not share what change or configuration made it happy. We have 2 E1's in Switzerland and cannot find the Country...
I have sorted out the worst of it... The DNS entry was teh key to get teh ADMT to run... Going from 2003 to 2003. Move a computer account over, but it remained in the old domain as well!! The computer itself still associates with the old domain! So all that was moved is an object that...
Yeah, the Host File and LMHosts seems to get me connected, but now I am hitting a wall with creating the two way trusts that need to be functioning to make ADMT work. I cannot get the Trust to validate.
OK so I have a Host and LM Host record created and now the ADMT contacts the Source Domain, but I get an Access Denied message, so I need an account that has permission to access the Source domain. How do I create an account in one domain that has permission in another domain?
OK, yeah, I know that I need name resolution, but I am not trying to resolve a host, but rather the Domain. What entry should be created to point to a Domain and associated AD Server? What format. An SOA record? NS Record?
I am playing with the AD Migration Tool. It "sees" the source Domain, but cannot 'contact' it when I try to run the Computer migration wizard. Do I need a DNS entry on the Target Server/Domain to get it to reach the source Domain? What would that record look like? Stub Zone?
I am trying to get SP2 insatlled and I keep locking up with error staing that Setup Failed while creating the Services Configuration. Anyone seen this or have suggestions on getting passed it?
I need a more granular solution. I have devices that only have USB for the Keyboard and mouse, so I cannot universally block them via Bios, already thought of that, but not an option here.. :-(
Some users need the option of USB Memory stick, or occational external drives, but would like to be...
We have users that are bringing in Skype on USB sticks... I know that I can block the .exe by name, but I wanted to use teh additional step of using the Hash of the .exe to block, but for ht elife of me I cannot remember where that hash gets created... Anyone know how to create that hash of a...
Hi Gmail2
I am familiar with the shortcomings of the updates changing the basic hash and invalidating the block, but the question I have is where and how is the hash created and then associated with the GPO?
I have tried to create a rule for the Proxy box that looks something like Local Host port 80 to Any and still cannot get out? What am I missing in the rule application?
Is there a way to block usage of USB ports? Can on econtrol what is allow and not allowed so users can plug in a USB Keyboard but not a external HD or Memory stick? To what level of granularity can this be controlled?
I am pretty sure that programs can be restricted more tightly than just using the app name in the Group Policy. I thought that there was a way of creating a Hash of the Application .exe such that the user cannot circumvent the Policy by changing the name. Has anyone tried this?
We use ISA 2004 as a Proxy box, and I have it happily working as a Proxy for the internal network, but the ISA Server itself cannot get out to the Internet. I cannot, for the life of me, figure which default rule or whatever is blocking the Proxy box from accessing the Internet. I get 403...
I have an analog extension and would like that # to ring on two ports (TN's). With a Digital Port (TN) I would just program the DN to ring on that TN... When I program the extension (DN) on the second TN the first one seems to stop ringing. It does not even get a dial tone. Is it that I...
I have found the .dll file and tried to manually register it, but get a failed message reporting that the specified module could not be found!! It is there. I even downloaded a new copy of it... What is wrong here?
I have an iPaq that suddenly fails to Sync. I get eventID 59 SidebySide errors. Something about MFC80U.dll . It is a Generate Activation Context Failed for that .dll. Sounds like some sort of licensing error to me, but not sure what it wants activated or validated...
Any thoughts.
Trying to help a user map a network drive... Get various errors One is "A device attached to the system is not functioning" which is an odd one for a mapping error. Also get Error 59 a netork error occured.
When I remote in and logon with Admin accoutn the mapping seems to work. I have...
Yes I have removed all references to teh UK Keyboard and still have trouble logging on after a reboot. There has to be something in the registry.
That is ironic... we are truly two peoples separated by a common lanuage!! :-)
I have an install Image (Ghost) that ws created for us to use on our Standard PC's to speed installation. Was created at the Home Office in Switzerland. The English image that I was given defaults to English (UK) not US!! I know that you can go into the Regional settings and change it to US...
