The account I am using is an admin for the site I am trying to backup.
How does Networker backup files and folders if the files and folders in question have had all permissions removed.
Does it use specific accounts to get rights or does it somehow get round permissions for backups.
I tracked it down in the end.
It was a new setting on the newer version of Networker.
On the physical i had to set the Server Network Interface in the storage node devices so the 2 libs could communicate.
Back in the old days of 7.4 (the old version we were running) it didnt care.
We have just upgraded our Networker servers to new hardware and version, since doing this our clone script has stopped working.
We have a dxi6700 VTL and we clone the data to a i500 physical tape unit. The i500 is controlled by cloneserver1.
The script below is run.

We are running 7.4.2 at the moment on win 2003r2, i am replacing the backup servers and looking at installing win2008 and upgrading the Networker version but i was wondering what sort of costs are involved in upgrading the Networker version from 7.4 to 7.5 or 7.6?
I think i might have found a way by setting the original savesets to suspect before i relable the original the clone become accessible.
Now looking up a way to set a whole tape to suspect instead of each saveset.
I know this was discussed a few years back but is anyone able to do this.
We have virtual tapes that are kept for 1 month and clones that are kept for 3 months but it seems that when the originals are relabled it removes any record of the clone tape. Obviously i could run a scanner to get the...
yeah the backup shows via a saveset recover but i was hoping there would be a way to see individual files without having to recover bigger sections.
The only way i can think of doing it is to increase the retention/browse policy with the VTL so the clones will have the same browse policy then...

Using the...
