I'd like to add my 2¢ here and agree with rclarke250 in recommending the CX600. It's a real bargain right now too.
The Dynex: I wouldn't even consider running one. Here's a review...

The label on the Dynex should look like this...
The 4 caps (6.3v 820µF) I replaced on the M2N78-LA did the trick. So now that hunk of crap could work for 2 minutes or 2 years provided I don't screw up putting it back together. I have as much faith in this machine as the reappearance of 75¢ gas...

I'm replacing 4 caps on the same motherboard from an a6720y as we speak. These things have a long history of bad caps and a working motherboard commands premium prices.
This thing would boot into BIOS but go no further. It would also not boot any live CD. All diagnostic testing passed with no...
I still have some 16bit wired and wireless stuff. Just keep looking on ebay and sites that deal with older parts. When you find that stuff it'll probably be pretty cheap...try to stock up.

Here's a link to nVidia forums...

An announcement, sticky, and a slew of posts. Seems like the panic is about the same as Japan invading Manchuria in 1931.

goombawaho speaks the truth. Each machine that does this could have a different reason such as malware, insufficient memory causing constant access to the swapfile, too many bloatware programs running on startup; the list is nearly endless.
"Other than the LED constantly running, have you...
Like Phil said, we'll need the exact model number of the machine. Dell makes it pretty easy with a "Service
Tag Number", a Gateway will require the "serial number", IBM/Lenovo wants a "type number", others will require the exact model number of the motherboard.
Then we can help...

48Mb is a problem for W2K to run well. My oc'd 200MMX's run 192, 256, and 384Mb. Puppy Linux is the only decent choice I've found for a linux distro on any of 'em. DSL runs fine but just doesn't do much.
Anyway, good luck recovering the 9x drivers off that cd. Let us know if you get away...
You can't run W2K on that machine? I've used the OS on a P133 and it was as responsive as 98 or Me.
Anyway, try this little utility to copy your pooched cd...

Is Win9x even supported by this adapter? SiteCom doesn't admit to anything before W2K.

For case fans (assuming there's good airflow thru the case), you should only need the psu fan to exhaust hot air. You can add one of the 120mm in the rear to help exhaust warm air but you shouldn't need any fan to intake ambient air.
I'm assuming you have a vertical case?

My opinion is based on "the fewer connections, the fewer problems with a bad connections".
That said, current modular psu connections are much better than those of a few years ago and probably aren't much of a problem nowdays.
"Well i'm not big on psu's it's the only part of my computer thats...
