yeah, I'm color-blind, too: color-blind, perfectionist, graphic artist- thank GOD for PMS#s, etc!
When someone asks what my favorite color is, I'll sometimes answer 'anything I can correctly identify'

good idea re: longer wire/wireless tablet. Don't think I need the tilt sensitivity, but it is another variable that it is good to be aware of...

I used vector artwork almost exclusively in the 7-8 months I ran the laser @ a former employer. Can use bitmap stuff, but he should be able to run stuff from Illy. If his laser is like the one we had, then he's running it thru corel; make sure you send him something corel won't choke on or bitch...
or make an object w/no fill or stroke and while it's selected 'select> same> fill & stroke' and it'll select any/all 'phantom objects' that have no fill/stroke. If there's a file with a lot of stuff or if there's a bunch of livetrace stuff, it's a good thing to do as a last step before closing...
have you checked the compatibility of your output files with the laser rip software? Find out what kind of laser it is and go to the company website for the requirements. Maybe the guy yr dealing with isn't as savvy with the files as he is running the laser. When I worked with a laser...

We have a pc with Corel12 and Ioline 301 which is hooked up to the ioline cutter. We would like to start using it to cut film for team #'s/names, etc. Ioline says it will import .plt and .dxf files, but when I set something up in Corel (simple test text; converted to curves) and output it...
it's the next screen; the box says 'eps options' @ the top and at the top left there's a drop-menu that says 'version' to the left of it. select eps version from that list

'save as' and once you are in the setup screen for the eps, the drop menu at the top has the older versions; just select ver8
