I have ADDS setup and running well except none of the workstations can see the directory icon in network neighborhood. These are all 2000 and XP workstations. Any ideas?
Also, the DCs can see the directory.
I have now found that I must remove the server from the NT domain it is part of and then add it back to the domain. This allows the clients to locate the server. Any other ideas?
I have a Win2k SP2 server and a bunch of Win98 clients connecting to it. Everyday the problem comes up where the drive and printer mapping are lost and the server cannot be access by its name, but it can be accessed by its IP. DNS and WINS are setup correctly on the server and clients. Any ideas?
Unfortunately USB does not work well with Cable/DSL routers. You will not be able to have multiple computers connected to the Internet. The fix is to use NIC cards.
What OS is the server? Are you running a domain or workgroup and how is the printer shared (a workstation or the server?). Does Corel not open on the server when you log onto the server locally? More information is needed.
I just found out that the NT 4.0 Resource Kit's Setup Manager will allow a BDC demotion to a standalone server in the domain. Don't know if it will work correctly but I'll give it a shot.
