Anyone know what error 510 on PM means - apart from file version not supported.
It has created on my hard disk what appears to be 2 mbrs. At least, as I understand, 7.8kb has to be left each end of the hdd for firmware. These have always shown up as grey lines on Partition Magic. Now I have a...
I forgot how much I loved this site. Cheers guys, you have repaired my self-esteem a whole lot. And a peruse through the history of postings reveals many similar stories.
Board no 1 was a Gigabyte 6VC something. I think the board was good. It kept going for a week!! The problem is the chipset...
Get a surge protector! Hey no kidding, they are great.
It's interesting what you say about the via 133 chipset and ATI conflicts. I just killed two motherboards with via 133 chipsets. The only graphics cards I had were ATI. My power supply in the house is dodgy as heck and I think the constant...
Same as above.
In theory it is double. But with comps the speed is determined by the slowest device. So if it comes out of the AGP bus at 66mhz or whatever it will have to go along another bus at 33 and so on. There are bottlenecks everywhere.
I've used both, 2x and 4x on agp and haven't noticed...
Try "WinDrivers" or "Drivers.Com". They've never let me down.
Otherswise just try some searches via Google, typing in the manufacturers name and the model number.

Still having this problem?
Are you using Direct-CD by any chance?
I had this problem with NAV and it was software related.
I also get it with Norton Utilities which occassionally tells me ShockWave has locked a partition. When I close my CD software it continues OK.
Does your CD software start...
Are U using ME? I had this problem with windows ME.
I've also had it on an erratic basis due to power supply problems.
Do you have a second floppy you can check with and attach it outside the machine.
What error message are you getting? Failed floppy (40)?
Check your bios and set everything to...
Hi Pipeline,
When you say no video, did you get a blank screen and no beeps? I just posted a thread about 2 motherboards dying on me and almost a third. Each time, the pre-fatal symptom was no video. In the end it turned out to be power supply related. The wiring in my house is shit. Don't know...
I've used computers for many years now but recently have had two new motherboards die on me. The first one was problematic as soon as I built the machine but I got it going OK. It died 3 days later but came back to life after I took it all apart and reassembled it piece by piece. When it died a...
Dare I say, Write a bit of Code!
Errmm, seriously, there is an example just like this in the access manual and any reference on access will give you a very similar example.
What source is your data coming in as? From Excel or some other source?
I'm sure you'll get a more detailed answer...
I am using MsgBox to try and validate data on a form.
If the textbox is empty MsgBox displays an error message and beeps. This bit works OK, whether I invoke it on the lost focus or exit event.
However, I can not get the focus to return the the text box which needs validating after the msgbox...
If I install a new motherboard, will my hard drive work correctly and retain it's contents or will I need to reinstall everything. i.e. will windows will recognise the motherboard as a new device or is this beyond it?
If I need to reinstall everything, is there anyway to store an image on-line...

You may not have to revert back to your ASPI settings.
Have you tried reinstalling the printer i.e. deleting it and then reinstalling it, or even rebooting it. It may "click" with the new settings then.
If this fails run System File Checker, under Accessories, System Tools, System...
As an afternote to this, Halifax, or anyone else, you can use SFC (System File Checker) to check if anything important is missing from windows, or if any files have been altered.
It is a valuable tool if used regularly, but can be overwhelming if run for the first time and you haven't used it...
I have an invoice form with 3 search boxes which enable the user to locate the record to invoice. They can find a particular record using the company's name, the name of the project the company has commissioned, or the project code. However, each of these search boxes are independent.
a) Is it...
I have a form with 3 search boxes which the user can use to select the record they want. However, after selecting the record the search box (a combo box, made using wizard) stays on the same item as selected.
If the user then selects another record using another criteria or by navigation...
I have an invoicing form on which a project may have up to 4 invoices. My form has project details and then four rows with details for each invoice. Details includes, project stage invoice relates to, the percentage of the total amount the invoice represents, invoice number, date, amount, vat...
I'm doing something similar, except I want to make my autonumber go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc, unless told otherwise and then go 2.1, 2.2, or 3.1, 3.2. This is for invoicing.
Rather than use autonumber can you not just use long integer and write code to make it behave like an autonumber. (surely that's...
Sound odd? Let me explain. I am working on an invoicing system. I want an autonumber facility to generate the invoice numbers so they run sequentially and just pop each time, thus avoiding errors. But, when changes have to made to an account invoices have to issued which are corrective. I would...
