FIC VB-601 Mobo + 3C905TX = no video

Hi.

Have FIC VB-601 motherboard with an 8MB AGP video card. Discovered that if I install a 3COM 3C905B-TX PCI Ethernet NIC in any available PCI slot, I get no video. This happened with motherboard bioses MI410 and MI415 (both available at

http://www.fic.com.tw)

My quick workaround was to use an Intel 10/100 PCI NIC instead. If anyone has any information to the contrary, it would be appreciated.

Hi Pipeline,
When you say no video, did you get a blank screen and no beeps? I just posted a thread about 2 motherboards dying on me and almost a third. Each time, the pre-fatal symptom was no video. In the end it turned out to be power supply related. The wiring in my house is shit. Don't know if you have a surge protector but since installing one I've had no problems and a lot of gremlins have disappeared as well. Gary
