That's the simplest answer, but there are other things that could be causing it to ring in the first place.
Check Night Ring - if night ring is turned on and the phone is in the night ring group, the phone will ring even if it is set to "no ring" in central tel programming.
Also if another...
Easy fix:
Program a button for Do Not Disturb (F01), and make sure DND is turned on. This will prohibit any calls from ringing, including intercom calls.
As skip said, a call to your local police or sheriff's non-emergency number ahead of time is the best way to go. Some centers are combined police/fire/ems/911, while others are totally separate from each other. If they don't directly handle 911 calls, they should be able to transfer you or...
Be sure to notify your E-911 dispatch center before doing 911 testing. I am a former 911 dispatcher and I can't begin to count how many abandoned calls I got from people testing auto-dial.
What most people don't know is that (ESPECIALLY with phone systems) if you dial 911 on an outside line...
Update: The method I mentioned above does not work like I thought it would. The only way I know of is to program a button to turn on/off *immediate* forwarding. Here are the steps for that:
1. #208 - Line Coverage Ext. - Set appropriate lines to the ext. you want to control forwarding
2...
I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think (as long as you don't need voicemail) you could enable remote forwarding for an unused extension and forward that ext to an outside number in it's own speed dial. Set line coverage to that extension with delayed ring.
Maybe some of the pros have a...
From Ext. 10 or 11 using a feature phone:
Feature 00
Left Intercom 2x
Right Intercom 1x
Ext # of analog phone
**
[Press Left Intercom first, then press each outside line button in the order you want it to pickup when you press 9 to dial out]
**
Feature 00
TTT, wouldn't a loop-around work in this case? One separate ext-CO loop for each "group", delayed CO ring on the second loop ext, and vms cover on the last ext? Then assign each group of phones to the appropriate loop line(s).
Hi there.. My client reluctantly gave in to converting to centrex lines, in order to do an outside transfer to a remote office. However now they are not happy about having to select an outside line AND dial 9 - especially after previously being able to just pick up the receiver and dial...
Although now I wonder.. (trying to think outside the box of course), is there a way to route the selector code to an unused extension that's always set to DND, but have the message light appear on x10? That would essentially do the same thing right?
Actually with only a few employees, I think I can overcome the double transfer. If I have 3 separate local extensions routing to 3 remote CO ports, I'll have one path for the receptionist, one path for the manager, and the 3rd for everyone else. Why didn't I think of this sooner!?
I set up the AA prompt, and here's where my plan fails.
I'm thinking this isn't available with the PC card, but I want to "press 3 or stay on the line to leave a voicemail".
The customer wants the message light to appear on x10 for all new voicemails to the general mailbox, hence why I...
Thanks so much! I'm trying to visualize transferring a call to the remote location.. Just [trans] then the extension pointing to the CO port on the remote sys? Maybe if this works I can create a few separate "paths" to do this so that multiple calls could take place at once. Transferring...
Hi there,
I'm somewhat confused on how to best setup voicemail with night-service.
Boss wants to have voicemail pickup after 1 ring when night-svc is turned on (long enough to allow employees to answer if expecting a call), but it always waits 4 rings whether on night-service or not.
I've...
