Sorry- It was actually card 20-1-15 and I re-enabled it just now- ( all ports show idle 2008 LOG IN ) odd- units 16 and 17 are programmed and enabled as well - still RNA - thought only 0-15 where programmable ( but then this is a MGATE card which I know nothing about ) no one is available to...
Hello All,
I'm rusty on the larger tower PC based CallPilot systems. Servers and clients. I have a RAS POTS modem number and the IP address's for everything. Trouble is- I can't remember which software program to use to do remote programming. I know it's not Procomm and something in...
FYI- the procedure outlined above worked OK except for the one thing- the Option 11 wanted us to use slot A ( left side ) for the PCMCIA adapter / Sandisk 512meg flash card. Using LD 143's menu driven procedure if it was in slot B the system did not see the card being present. Luckily we had a...
Hi Guys and Gals- OK here is my plan- tell me if this won't work-
I will buy a PCMCIA adapter card and the "little" square 512MB Sandisk flash memory cards ( a couple for offsite database storage ) so I plug the adapter card and the flash card in slot B ( right hand side if side by side )of the...
Oh why does Nortel have to make everything complicated. Sorry but I have more questions. I want to do these backups dialed in thru an SEB modem with a tech onsite to plug in the PCMCIA card. Does this mean I still use slot A or because I may not be TTY 0 or should I use slot B with a BKO command...
Buddy- thanks for the info - which is slot A ( the top ? ) is it marked on the SSC card ? Also is a PCMCIA card always the same - so if I went to an office max and asked for one would they all be the same storage size ? Which is needed for this operation ?
Hello,
I have been reading some posts on how to backup the Option 11 database. On a G3 Avaya we just pop out the flash memory card and do a "save trans" with the backup flash card installed. When completed- it's done. I am reading about downloading to a PC , etc... don't want to do that if...
Doktor-
Thanks for the reply. I understand what you said...but let me clarify what I want to do. The customer has older Octel 200's - from version 2.0 to 4.0. They have like 1000 mailboxes at each of three sites. Since it takes about 15 minutes per floppy using the Octel's floppy drive...
All-
I have several Octel 200's ( from 2.0 to 4.1 ) to perform backups of Names, Greetings, PDL's, etc. to floppies and the customer wants 3 copies to be sent to various offsite locations. Can I use the old DOS diskcopy commands to create these additional diskettes or is some sort of...
Buddy-
Had to out more than that- needed to delete all the trunks, route data block and Dchannel configuration record. Then rebuild everything from scratch. FYI- this was an Option 61. When complete with the database rebuild , before enabling the loop- had to disable the MSDL card and...
Hello,
Have not done this in awhile - I have a T-1 PRI set up as tie lines with a DCH of 18 - it is currently NI2 but needs to be changed to ESS4 - if I recall correctly all I have to do is disable the d-channel and change the IFC to ESS4 without having to out the trunks right ? Thanks in...
Never mind I found it.

Hello-
Have an Octel 200 that uses CLI commands. ( S3.0 ) How do I find the default password for newly created or modified mailboxes on this system? 1234 ain't working......
Thanks for the replies - I was afraid someone would suggest a reload due to some sort of data corruption.
I think the system software is onsite - but I'll check first.
I'll let you know what happens...........
Hello all-
Never seen this before- if I try and IDU ( LD 32 or LD 11 ) any digital phones on an Opt.61 2911 rls 25 iss 15+ pswv 33 I get garbage characters in all the fields. 2008's, 3902's, 3903's , all digital sets do the same. I also noticed if I print the CFN the idle set display...
Thanks for all the replies- I learned that some G3's actually have IP capability for around 5 phones ( assuming you have a CLAN card installed ) and some software comes with licensing for those few. Do a Display Capacity and page thru - near the end it will show if any IP licenses exist.
Hello,
I have a customer that has an older Avaya G3siV6 PBX and they wonder if it can handle any wireless IP phones. I don't think so- I would think they would need a costly upgrade- probably to a S8XXX series server based system.
There is no way this system can accomodate any IP phones...
Thanks for the reply- the alarm center is NetMon and I thought this might just be a status message since no other PWR related messages are kicking out. I also looked up the meaning of the alarm in the NTP's so I agree but since about 14 other sites are being monitored and I don't see this...
Hello-
I am seeing a strange error almost nightly from an Opt. 61 PBX. The alarm states-
RESOLVED_PWR0000 MAJOR ON_BOARD_ALARM
PWR000 XSMC 00 0 0
I've seen these before but there is always a PWR_001 or _002 indicating some sort of failure - this is kicking out without any discernable...
