Micker, when I look at in Advanced Port Settings those ports are all in use, but that seems to the way it is after I reinstall. Those ports are not showing there free. Should be free. It move to COM 9 now and says 8 is in use.

I went to Add Hardware Wizard and clicked already connected the hardware. Found the ESS ES56CVM-PI Data Fax Voice Modem listed. Highlighted it and clicked next. Here is the current status of the Hardware.

Thank you very very much, that did it!! I had to create a home network in guest and when I did it show it was password protected and I was able to turn off the password protection. Bam, I clicked on the laptop Icon on my desktop and every shared file opened.

Yes, both computers have shared files. I have both machines networking before and had to reinstall the OS on the desktop (98se). Seem before I was told how to turn this feature off. Because I never had to do that that I know of, unless it did it automaticly.
