    the only fix will be to format the hard drive. what you may also be able to do is install windows 2000 onto another hard drive, and use the "broken" one as a slave, and you may be able to recover some of the files from it. GOOD LUCK

    you should be able to override it if you put it on the 2000 machine. i dont have a pc running with 95 on it, but make sure you have file and print sharing on the computer enabled (you can do so in the network control panel). i'd just move it to the 2000 machine anyway, it'd be safer

    reguardless, they need to be setup this way, so that your computer you want to use the internet on knows were to go, and the cable modem needs to be on the first nic listed in winipcfg.     you need to be on the computer that the actual shared file/folder is on, you cannot do this remotely. that is why you are getting the "make available offline" options. you need to be were the file is physically kept. no short cuts, nothing. just the file.

    It sounds as if you have a completely misconfigured bios. Go into bios, make sure your hardrive/ cdrom drive and floppy drives are all setup in there properly.
