I recently had a cable modem installed, I formerly had used AOL - I set up my POP3 mail addresses on my website's admin page, and went through the normal process of setting up email addresses on outlook - (On another computer I use outlook express) I can receive email, but every time I try to email someone I get an error and won't send my mail! Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

You need to set up an SMTP server if you haven't already done so. SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) controls your outgoing mail. POP3 controls incoming mail.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

I really need the error message that you are getting when trying to send email. could you email that to me? (joke)

Without that error message to help narrow it down, the possibilities are endless on what the problem is. It could simply be that you left out a letter when typing in the mail server, or your outgoing mail server requires a username/password, and you have to select that manually. The best bet would be to contact your internet company's technical support, and inform them of your problem. Tech suport guys arenot all terrible idiots. If they do not offer support, please type in the error you get here, and we can diagnose the problem further.

Thanks everyone for your quick response! Here is the error message I get:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.
Server response(email address I'm trying to send it to)... relaying temporarily denied. Cannot resolve PTR record for (account: "My email address", SMTP server: error number:0x800ccc79)
From reading all of this, It seems like I may need to contact my hosting company - what do you guys think? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! THANKS.
