Apologies for the lengthy post, but I'd really appreciate some help with this one...
I have 'My Documents' redirected to a Network Share (\\server\username) which is available offline, along with a drive mapping (Z:) on the same server (\\server\drive) also enabled to work offline.
When...
Hi all,
We have 25 Win XP Pro clients, a Win 2003 Standard server running Exchange 2003 set up as PDC, and another Win 2003 standard server acting as a file server.
All the clients are configured with local accounts. We would like to move from this set-up to having everyone log in to the...
Thanks for all the replies peeps!
I shall look into FireDaemon.
GoldMine is installed locally on the server, so there are no drive mapping issues.
I'm using GoldMine 6.7.

Darren
Thanks for the reply Rob.
I too thought that was the case, however, the service is set to Automatic already, and so are the Goldsyncs dependencies (SQLSERVERAGENT and MSSQLSERVER).
Does it have anything to do with the Log On settings for each service? They are all set to 'Local System...
Hi,
I have the Goldsync service running fine. What I would like to know is, is it possible to have the service load before windows 2000 asks you to log into the server? Reason being, people can still synch if the server has been restarted and not logged in.
Any help would be great
Thanks
Darren
At the moment we don't have a DNS server configured on our network, as we have always used, and still do, local hosts files to indicate the host name and IP address of servers. This, as I'm sure you will agree, not an ideal situation, especially when it comes to resolving host names across the...
Microsoft says on it's website that drmapsrv.exe is free and every link I found links to the hotfix on Microsoft web site.
Is drmapsrv.exe (drmapsrv.dll & drmapsrv.reg) free or not? Normally, it comes with Windows 2000 resource kit. But the only thing I really need is this tool, and I don't...
Hi Robert,
Thanks for replying to my message.
However, the link you provided doesn't work. Is there any other way I can get to the info?
Best regards
Darren
Ok, let's start from the beginning. I have been asked to get 5 of our users (increasing to 10 in the future) working from home.
They will need access to our two servers; Windows 2000 and Windows NT4.
We currently have a Watchguard Firebox 2 firewall, which sits between our network and DSL...
I get this error message in my event viewer on a Win 2K server:
'The browser was unable to retrieve a list of servers from the browser master \\SERVERNAME on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip. The data is the error code'
(SERVERNAME being the name of the domain controller!)
Anyone shed any...
In the Explorer window, click on Tools and Folder Options.
Select the View tab, and scroll to the bottom of the Advanced options. Uncheck the box that says "Show Pop-up description for folder and desktop items".
After you enable the Require Secure Channel when accessing this resource option or the Require 128-bit Encryption option from the IIS HTML Admin (HTMLA), the following error occurs when trying to access the Web site:
HTTP Error 403
403.4 Forbidden: SSL required
This error indicates that the...
When I changed mine from dial-up to DSL I was advised to delete all the configuration settings after making a note of what they were, and then re-creating new ones. I was told that some of the new settings don't get picked up if you just edit them.
Also, did you re-calculate the routing...
Click on Recipients. Select File, and New Distribution List in the Exchange Administrator. Pretty self explanitory from that point onwards.
The online help with the administrator should be able to help you from there.
