When I try running the ASSET.com utility is gives me an error:
Cannot change Asset/Serivce tag.
Please ensure the tag is in a correct format, and the setup password is disabled
I checked and the password is disabled.
Is there a certain format that the service tag has to be?
I don't want the users to have access to the service tag numbers and I can't password protect the BIOS because if they are in the field and have problems I may need to walk them through BIOS changes and giving them the password would defeat the purpose.

I need to change the service tag number in the BIOS to my companies asset tag number. I have a bunch of Dell Latitude laptops with A11 BIOS version. Is there a way that I can change the sevice tag number or add an asset tag?

The Secure Remote client is what is causing the problem. Not the firewall itself. He is the only one that is having the problem. I already tried reinstalling the client and that didnt fix the issue
I have a user that keeps getting the log in screen pop up every 10 to 15 minutes even though he is already logged in. I have selected the "suspend popups" option but they still come up. Any ideas on how to fix this?

When you download a file in XP Pro and click open instead of save in the dialog box where does the file get saved?
Also, does it get removed when you close it after veiwing it?

Thanks Mark, But I have this same adminpak running on other XP machines without problems. It is just these two machines that have the problem and they are too valuable to format and start over...any other suggestions

Windows 2000 Adminpak is not compatible with XP PRO. I had tried that first, but it wouldnt run. Server 2003 Adminpak is compatible with Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 3 or higher. My DC's have Service Pack 4..
Any Other ideas?
