It is likely an 'extension message waiting.'
If a user calls the extension, and presses the message button it turns the light on. Calling the extension should turn it off when the far end answers. You can also press the message button followed by cancel when on hook.

It works on all phone types with a DSS button and no hunting or forwarding with the correct COS.
Unless the DSS issues a busy, there’s no way to access the monitor.

Hi All,
We would like to use the 'call monitor' feature on the NS700... (1.3.7 Operating Manual... Listen-In to conversation of a busy extension).
However, if we use DSS button and have call hunting programmed (or FWD BY/NA, or make an ICD group), pressing the DSS button (or PDN/SDN with...
Our PBX is in a rural area with limited bandwidth and we are running into problems with call quality.
Our only option to increase bandwidth is to have multiple DSLs routed with load balancing.
We are using SIP trunks in addition to site to site VPN tunnels for IP phones connected to...
With some carriers it is as if the PBX does not recognize it is a DID.
The calls go to intercept, and then we hear the DTMF when we answer.
It must be something in their switch.
Thanks
I really think it is a carrier issue.
It is bouncing directly to our fail-over POTS lines. I don not think the failed calls are hitting the PBX.
It does look like there were significant changes to the SIP programming if the manual is correct
I am switching to a new SIP Trunk provider and having all sorts of DID weirdness...
Incoming DID calls only work from certain carriers.
I upgraded the UPMC to 7.1.1.6 and the help utility no longer matches the options, especially with the SIP programming.
It is possible I may need to upgrade...
It was not sitting right that I could not control outbound calls on the G-DN key with the group COS.
I restarted the PBX and the Group COS changes now apply to the outbound G-DN.
I have restricted the outbound G-DN key to forced account mode.
The call center cannot forget to enter an account...
Its getting close....
But the group operators are making out our calls on behalf of the client so the outbound phone number is almost always different.
I tried playing with a walking COS and SDN button but the CID is always from the CO and not from the extension regardless of the CLIP...
We use SIP trunks, so the CLIP is dependent on the G-DN button, not the trunk.
I might be able to create a phantom extension and use a walking COS string. I will have to test it.
Pressing the G-DN would be the best way if there is some programming we can do on the back-end
We have a unique set-up using individual ICGs for distinct projects.
Each project is assigned a unique DID with the CLIP on G-DN Button to match for returning calls... (We have a better answer rate when callers recognize the CID)
We use the SMDR data for billing and controls but can only track...
We have a remote user trying to use a mobile phone to answer ICD calls.
They are set up as a virtual PS member of the ICD and the virtual PS forwarded to the mobile phone
Could use some help with a work around.
We have several ICD groups. All are answered differently based on the DID that points to the group (coming from SIP trunks).
Is there a workaround to pass the incoming CO CLIP to a forwarded virtual extension (PS ring groups did not work)?
Also, have...
