i have installed xp on both my machines at home.
on my main machine i have 2 soundcards and anytime i load up any sort of program that can utilitise both, the computer just restarts , this happens with dj software bpm studio & traktor . I disabled one soundcard at a time with the other enabled and the program worked fine but i couldnt use both cards. it needed a reboot to re-enable the driver.

sound cards are soundblaster pci128 picked up as creative audiopci (es1370) sb pci 64/128 (wdm) and the other is a sounblaster pci 64 v and is picked up as
audiopci (es1371,es1373) (wdm).

i searched creatives website for xp drivers + win 2k drivers but could only find win nt drivers. i downloaded them both. should i remove the divers xp installed and install the creative ones. there was no updates detected for them on the microsoft update site.

can anyone advise me as to what i should do.

I'm not being "flip" here, but rather curious. Why would anything need two soundcards? If it is a lack of ports out surely there must be a special card that has more or a splitter of some type.If two MUST be used I would suggest that two identical cards would be the best choice. Two different ones seems to be asking for conflict.

its for use with a dj program , one for a set of headphones and the other for the main speakers
