Voicemail Pro service will not start 1

We just installed Voicemail Pro and when we try to start the service it fails. It says "the service dis not respond to the start request in a timely fashion".

Has anyone seen this before?

make sure the box is also fully up-to-date and has .NET installed. (3.5 sp1)

"The .NET Framework 4 works side by side with older Framework versions. Applications that are based on earlier versions of the Framework will continue to run on the version targeted by default."

Obviously untrue.

I uninstalled .net 4 and then ran a windows update and under optional components I had the option for .net 3.5 as well as 4. I installed 3.5 and everything started working.

I read it that you didn't have 3.5 and just 4 installed.

HSM I take the star back if that was not the case

No I did have just 4 installed because that is the only version you can download right now from Microsoft. It was only by doing a windows update that I had the option to install 3.5
