I was looking for an answer for why the Voicemail section in ESM on a 3300 would be non-existent. The closest thing I found describing my circumstances was in thread1329-1707221 but that still doesn't answer my question.

My customer (a Hotel) migrated from an SX-2000 Light with NuPoint Messenger to a 3300 MXe II but the new Hotel Administration policy was that no voicemail was required so the NuPoint was just discarded.

Now they want to implement Auto-Attendant (still no voicemail for guest rooms) so when I tried to go ahead and configure it for them, the Voicemail section was not listed and the App Record had no Mailbox Licenses but it had the Advanced Voicemail License.

Do I just add Mailbox licenses for the Voicemail feature to appear? or do I need PMS voicemail to be enabled?

Can the licenses they have for NuPoint be converted to Embedded?

Hope someone can answer these questions.

Check your licensing, do you have VM licenses.

Sorry, just read your post more fully

No Licensing = No Voicemail forms

OMG I need to slow down, sorry again.

No PMS req'd
No Nupoint cannot be converted
Yes you require 1 embedded VM license
Advanced VM has no impact

If you have a way to Play a Recorded Greeting there are ways to implement an AA without VM

Thanks again kwbMitel!

So all I need to do is add Mailbox licenses? That is good news because we have some we can assign to them.

When you add your first VM license, the system will require a reset.

Once the ports are configured, the system will require a reset to activate them.

You only need 1 license to enable ALL available ports.

Personally, I would use the ports as RADs and a Vacant ACD group with Dial out of Queue enabled for single digit routing.

There are far too many hacking attempts these days of voicemail and in a Hotel environment, there are many other considerations that suggest AA should be locked down and only allow specific numbers (not direct to rooms, don't go there)

I have seen many of my customers been hacked through voicemail but I never knew other ways of configuring AA. All I would usually do was to change passwords from default or from something easy to guess.

Using ports as RADs sounds like a more secure way of doing AA.

Would that allow me to use the bilingual feature (press 1 for English, para Español presione 2)? Don't remember if a bilingual option license is required for that also.

Where can I find information on setting up AA using RADs and vacant ACD groups? I am very interested in doing it that way.
