I am using Visual FoxPro 5.0 I have used it since it came out without any problems until this week. When I use the setup wizard to creat distribution files the database/tables are producing the following error &quot;<table> did not match the entries in the database&quot; or the table structure is changed in some cases. The files in the source folder are fine.

I have reinstalled FoxPro, checked for virsuses, and checked harddrive for errors.

Hi Jim,

I'm using wise installer, it is very good application to deploy my apps. I don't use that wizard setup.

Have you tried validating your database(s) before trying to create your setup?

Yes mgagnon I have done that their is no problem with the source files. Thanks for your response, any other suggestions?

Are you installing the data using the same relative directory structure? e.g. The Database (DBC) in the main directory and the tables in a DATA\ directory. Or all the files in the application directory.

Rick

rgbean, the application folder contains some free tables each of 5 databases is in its oun sub folder withe the tables. This layout has woked fine since its development only reciently have i begun having problems.

hey jim,

Is it possible you have changed some tables and use now names longer than 10 characters in your tables ?

When I did so, even in vfp 7 i got the same problems.

Filipm, some of my tables do field names larger than 10 characters, i dont think any of them were the ones effecetd. Could they effect other tables?

Jim,
The VFP 3/5/6 installer has problems if you specify any files that use the same name, but just in a different folder (e.g. \folder1\table1.dbf AND \folder2\table1.dbf). It also has problems with files that have any embedded spaces in the path name(s). Do you have either situation? If you do, then you'll need change the table names or use a different installer - like ISE that comes with VFP 7/8.

Rick

rebean, i dont have any spaces in the path names, however i do have tables of like names in different folders. This problem only began last week it has worked fine for months, can this stillbe the problem?
