Upgrading the MXe system

Hi,

I have a running 3300 MXe system and would like to upgrade it to the latest release, I already downloaded the exe file from mitel website. anyone can help me with clear steps for the upgrade?

What can you tell us about the existing SW version and Hardware Configuration?

There are many caveats when upgrading systems not the least of which is whether you have the skill to recover from a failed upgrade.
Second to that is whether you have software assurance
Then in no particular order
- memory size
- Peripheral Nodes
- Consoles
- License conversions
- DB conversions
- Phone types
- and probably another half dozen or so.

Your first step should be to read the release notes. That should answer a lot of your questions.

You won't be able to upgrade the software unless you have Software Assurance in place.

I suppose you're entitled to your opinion, I'm just not going to suppose very hard.

Thank you all for your replies.

My system is new and the software assurance is valid, I did the upgrade from 7.x to 8.x using the software installer tool.

All is okay no.w
