Upgrade to MCD 4 and ISDN states "Not Seizable"

I attempted upgrading a Mitel 3300 CX from 9.0ur3 to MCD 6.0 Sp1. CX 3300 512Mb 9.0ur3 with a T1/E1 module

For this operation to complete you need to go to MCD 4.0 and do a SDS conversation.

So initially I upgraded the Mitel 9.0ur3 (9.0.3.29) to MCD 4.0 (10.0.4.14) this was an online upgrade when the system booted with MCD 4.0 the ISDN layer 2 was not coming up. The E1 was flashing green. To prove that the ISDN was fine I then rolled back to 9.0 with the SWAP command and the ISDN was up and running fine. But again doing a SWAP command bringing the system to MCD 4.0 the ISDN was still having issues. The state was “Not Seizable”

So I had two options I either deconfigure the ISDN and reconfigure or do an SDS conversion and upgrade to MCD 6.0 and then reprogram the E1. I choose to upgrade to MCD 6.0 but whilst the upgrade was taking place to 6.0 the Mitel Software Installer errored half way with “software could not complete” this meant the system was in no stage to boot as this was an offline upgrade.

I then revert back to 9.0ur3 and restored the database where the system is now up and working.

I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the issue when upgrading to MCD 4 the ISDN layer 2 does not come up.

The Mitel Software Installer logs did not show any errors relating to ISDN but I have attached the logs if that helps.

There not some new options in the programming for ISDN in MCD 4? Invert D or something that needs to be changed.

I've been in the middle of doing a ton of the same upgrades (9.0UR3 to 10.0UR4) with no issues. Double check your PRI configs (IMAT DB if you're using an NSU, Protocol Assignment and Outgoing Call Characteristics if you're using an embedded T1/E1 card), and just make sure something didn't get hosed up during the DB conversion. Also double-check your ISDN protocol variant with the telco, maybe there's a change that needs to be made there?
