Hello,

Thank you in advance for any help you can give, much appreciated.

So I have 2 sites (Main & Backup)
The Main site has SIP Service the backup site has no telco service.

There is a SCN configured between sites so the Backup site can log in to the phone and make calls across the SCN and out the SIP trunk at the main site.

I am having trouble setting up a FAX machine at the backup site and having it work over the SCN. I do not have much experience with fax machines to start but I have tried everything I can think of and am spinning my wheels.

I have a combo card installed at the backup site and the fax machine is plugged into port 8 (Analog Station) and set as a FAX.
I have dial tone at the Fax.

When I go to dial out It starts to go then get the busy signal. I have attached a quick sketch for reference of what I am trying to achieve.

I am having issues actually dialing out, not sure if there is something that needs to change with the SCN or what.

I have the same thing set up at the Main office pretty much with a fax machine and it works, the only difference here is the SCN.

Any ideas? Any more information needed?

Let me know - Thank you.

@derfloh See attached, we use 8 as our prefix to dial out

Since the SCN line group on the backup office site is 21 you have to use it in you short code. So 8N/Dial/8N/21 would be correct. You also have to assure that you have an 8N system short code on the main office site as well.

IP Office remote service Fixed price SIP trunk configuration: CLI based cale blocking: SCN fallback over PSTN:

@derfloh I will make that change tonight to see if it resolves some issues. Don't want to knock anyone offline right now - I will let you know in AM the results. Thank you!

Allso ensure you have Fax support enabled on the SCN trunk!

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

So now I’m able to receive faxes but when trying to fax I always get “no fax answer”

From the fax machine I have it set to use 8 as a prefix then dial

From the same line I can dial a number with a buttset

Only short code is 8N / N / Dial
