Stuck at startup

Hi all, my pc for some reason wont boot into windows after about 2mins after turning it on it seems to get stuck on the desktop picture bit. I can not use safe mode neither, I seem to recall that there was a command to use at the a prompt to fix this sort of thingbut for the life of me, cant think of it. Cheers

When did this behaviour start? Had you just added/removed any hardware/software, had a virus infestation, major crash?

You could try booting from an ME boot floppy (

http://www.bootdisk.com

if you haven't got one) - and try running scanreg /restore. But its a bit difficult giving advice without any clues as to what might have started problem.

Hi, I have no idea what caused this, no new hard ware has been installed and I havnt been using the pc on the net, so I doubt it is a virus.

Okay I have now fixed this thanks, I used a bootdisk and ran scanreg, reddoted the pc and it went into windows straight away. Cheers
