I put a application in the startup folder for my entire lab, this application is for all users to run when anyone logs on. But for some reason the application doesn't startup on half my machines. Is there a way to make sure that the application starts up every time. I am using windows 2000 pro. and the account everyone is logging on with is a default account.

Thanks

Is this the Startup folder under Default User? Could be a permission issue if the application does not start for certain users, but does for others.

Depending on the application and its purpose, you could d/l a third party program to make the app a service and run it under the context of a different account that does have permission.

Are you using local profiles?

Check you are adding the shortcut to the startup of the "allusers" profile not to individual user profiles

Also you could try...

open the registry and goto

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

enter a new string in here pointing to your apps .exe file.
The app should now run at logon regardless of who it is.
