Anyone care to tell me where the Bluebonnet exit is? What city? I cannot find this on MS Streets and Trips.

It's in Baton Rouge. Take I-12 to Baton Rouge and then turn onto I-10 South towards New Orleans. I think Bluebonnet is the second exit (but maybe third). It's the same exit for the Mall of Louisiana. Google Map I'll be in Baton Rouge next week and will get the exit number and distances and scope the place out. I've been to other BWWs, but not that specific one.

Good Luck

Really wish I could make the twenty-two hour round trip, but I'm heading out the day before on a 4000 mile or so trip, to various points northeast.

Besides, it's not clear if Tulsa is in the "Southern USA".

I've heard it described as:

The most northern southern city: which puts it in the south, but shows a certain lack of clue concerning how far north the south extends.

A southwestern city: which would make it the most northeastern southwestern city.

A midwestern city: which would make it the most southwestern midwestern city.

A plains city: which is probably most accurate.

I'm still waiting for "Pacific Northwest", "Atlantic Seaboard", and "New England". :)

Rod - no wonder Gene Pitney was always 24 Hours from Tulsa!

Quick follow-up. I will be in Baton Rouge on Sunday and will check out the place and post back with some details, unless someone would prefer to meet somewhere else.

Tentatively, we are set for Saturday, July 16, roughly 6 pm, at Buffalo Wild Wings on Bluebonnet.

Good Luck

Let's hope someone takes some pictures. TT-UK shouldn't be the only ones to be so honored.

Wow--People from Mobile!!!! I'm in Baldwin county, maybe we could do our own thing as well. I'm always surprised to see people from our area on an international board, and the fact that there are more than two of us is exciting! I won't be able to do the Baton Rouge thing, we're gearing up for school and some of the stuff starts before school does.

Actually I am in Daphne....where are you?

CC - have you checked out Buffalo Wild Wings yet?

Sorry, no. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get to Baton Rouge to check it out. My best information is that from the Google map -- (link in my 22 Jun 05 3:24 post).

At the moment, I am anxious to hear from dgillz and yanqui, and any other member along the Alabama and Florida gulf coasts to hear how they came through Dennis. Hoping that all is okay.

Good Luck

CC,

Thanks for asking. In Mobile/Baldwin Counties, AL, we actually fared quite a bit better than we did last year with Ivan. Our friends to the east of us are pretty beat up though.

Also yanqui if you are reading this please email me at askdon@gainfocus.biz. I would love to know someone else in Baldwin Co. that is a tek-tipper.

We came through okay in our area, all we had was twigs from the neighbors' trees in our yard. the next county got it again, and further east, over near Panama City, really felt some wind, but still nothing like Atmore and Brewton got from Ivan. This was not a typical hurricane, Ivan flew more true-to-form than Dennis.

And I know it's heresy to say this, but let's keep in mind that the Yucatan doesn't have anything like FEMA; we're much better equipped to handle EMily than Mexico is. You gotta figure that 48 hours before landfall, WalMart trucks are being loaded in Bentonville, Arkansas, ready to roll out to whatever cities need emergency supplies. We have power companies visiting those damaged cities from New Orleans, Arkansas, Tenessee, and it'll take far less time than Ivan cleanup took because Dennis was his own storm, and not arriving on the heels of three others.

Good to hear from you yanqui, and glad you're okay.

All eyes are are Emily now for sure. So far, the WNW track is expected to continue for the next 5 days, but when will she turn northward?

Good Luck

Who knows? Hurricanes are as unpredictable as executives are.

Well, I'm ready for some wings tomorrow - if we're agreed.
