So I am still having issues with this SCN over VPN.

For those new to the situation I have an IP Office 500 Release 5 and a 406 Release 5 going over a VPN with Juniper Netscreen routers.

Basically I have checked my IP routes, I have checked my IP Line. These are both correct.
When I go to make a call between the two sites it comes up 'unobtainable'. What is interesting is that they both use the same voicemail, housed at site A. Site B can call that voicemail no problem. It is only when they go to call each of the other extensions or grab the IP Line (based on a shortcode I built) that it will not let the call go through.
When they go to make a call between sites the name of the user they are calling (information housed at the other location) pops up on the screen right before coming up with a fast busy and saying 'unobtainable'.

I cannot add users from the opposite sites into groups nor see them. Yet once in a blue moon I can get a single call to go through and then this all starts again.

Any advice?

You do not need shortcodes for dialing if a SCN works.
Sounds like blocked ports to me.

PS, do not put your configs on the internet !!!

I was not aware of ports going through a VPN.

All data going through a VPN (or any network device/connection) uses a port, the router/routers will probably be blocking some of the ports required for correct functioning of the SCN/voice traffic :)

Basically you need to open up the router to allow as a minimum the following ports to pass freely:

UDP 49152-53247* RTP/RTCP
UDP 50795 IPO Voice Networking
UDP 50799 IPO BLF
UDP 1720 H.323/H.245
UDP 1719 H.323 RAS

If it is a VPN then it is secure and you should not close ports at all!!!

Me <--- not closing anything. :)

Guys thank you so much for your help. This is now up and running. The routers themselves had disabled H323 traffic. Once this was enabled we were off to the races. Thank you so very much for getting me to the resolution here.

Cool, glad to be of assistance :)
