Removing startup splash screen

Has anyone found out how to disable the Windows Me splash screen from loading on startup? It introduces an unnecessary delay in loading Windows, and obscures the processes going on behind it.

TeakUI used to take care of this quite nicely. The new version--the one warranted by Microsft to work with Windows Me--omits the "boot" tab entirely.

There are a number of free tweaking tools available from download sites like Tucows and C NET that will do the job.

If you can get a copy of windows 98 version 1 disc, tweak UI is available in the folder tools/reskit.
