Remote SIP Phones

We recently upgraded our Session Managers and SBCs to 7.1.3. The remote phones are 9641 sets thru get the 46xx settings thru a Utility server.

When a user answers a call on a bridged appearance the soft key Answer button changes to Bridge instead of Hold, Conf, Tranfer and End Call. When you press the Bridge button the phone beeps and an "invalid state" message appears on the screen. The only way to clear the problem is to log the phone out or reboot.

Any ideas what to look for?

are they tcp? that'd be bad. is there a SIP aware application layer gateway in front of the SBC?

No the SBC is outward facing to the AT&T network.

Oh. I read remote phone as SIP remote worker through a SBC.

what version of set firmware and CM? There's a thing about SBAs broken on SIP phones before 7.1.x.

Maybe reset 4 or see if it's the same with other extensions in case there's a stuck call in CM. If it doesn't happen on the 1st call after rebooting the phone, then maybe it's some firmware bug, but whatever it is, either the set or the PBX thinks theres a call up somewhere.

We pushed the latest SIP firmware 7.1 to our Utility server and rebooted several phones and the issue with bridged appearance remains.

I tried to program the extension with using registration for H.323 and SIP endpoint but I can't check the box in SMGR.

Call the phone directly, not the brdg-appr. look at the invite. is there a header like accept=+cm-line1 or line2?

Might be a stuck call

Avaya released a hot fix for SMGR 7.1.3 that fixes this issue with dual registration.

Dual registration provides us a workaround for the bridge appearance issue for now. Our BP is assisting with the bridge appearance and I willa dvise result of their testing.
