Has anyone upgraded using FTP at Rel3.

I know there was an issue from 2.X to 3.X

How about 3.0.2.5 to 3.1.0.11?

I've done it. I regretted it. It was sooooo slow. 1.5 hours. Just because I didn't have the latest version on a compact flash....

My issue the systems are in different citys.

1.5 hours concerns me.

If I learn different I'll post my findings

A local flash upgrade is sufficiently idiot proof that I'd be tempted to burn a new chip, test it, then drop it in the mail to some reasonably intelligent person at the site. Have them plug it in, make sure they get an orange LED, then push the button.

Message received and understood.

Thanks

(what use is technology if you're too afraid to use it?)

The problem with a 1-1/2 hr upgrade is the system is down the whole time.

Yah, I know.

But it doesn't sound so bad when you consider I could do all 7 of them at the same time in 3 different cities.

I'm convinced about the Flash, don't get me wrong.

Thanks for the advice

7 at once via remote? My sphincter muscles would be so tight I wouldn't be able to walk. :)

I thought I would let everyone know this was a success.

My customer uses a managed VPN service between each site for networking. Using My laptop as the FTP server I was able to upgrade SIX sites simultaneously via ftp. Each site took less than 20 minutes start to finish.

One hiccup, the last step of the upgrade says that it is resetting the system. Only half of my sites displayed this message. The reset took place and all was good however.

I was upgrading from 3.0.2.5 to 3.1.0.11

not sure when you actually did this but is there any reason you would not go to 3.1.0.22 as it has been out since July?

The most recent General Release on Mitel's Website is 3.1.0.11

3.1.0.22 might be available via the FTP site but it is not GR'd
